A slow moving heavy precip tornado warned storm moves thru Boone County. The storm later drops 2 small tornadoes, one near Timberline and 1 north near Sharon WI... both are very weak and short lived... neither is on video or in our pictures. But the storm gave a very attractive cloud display despite such a little amount of lightning.

A slow moving group of non severe showers and storms move up across northern illinois. The leading edge cell is in a statement for possible funnels. while non are seen the slow moving shelf is only documented in Mchenry Co.

Several strong isolated supercells cross central wisconsin setting up a strong environment in northern illinois for what could become a bad weather day. In the late evening a single supercell forms in Mchenry county and moves along the warm front Thru the Chicago metro area.
​
I end up in traffic with many drivers stopped along the sides of the road and was not able to keep up with the blinding hp cell.

This slow moving group of severe storms out of wisconsin would prove to be one of the few times Ive ever questioned my car being struck by lightning. This supercell took its time crossing the area and while it was quite photogenic didnt produce any naders or hail from what i saw.

As if my lightning scare earlier in the day wasnt enough, a near stationary group of supercells would come visit at night giving Boone and mchenry county one of the best lightning displays of the year for a lot of chasers.

As if my energy levels wernt up enough, along comes july 5th ( the next day) and I have an isolated stationary cell 5mi from home go tornado warned. Didnt see any funnels but 2 lowerings on the initial cell. The outflow went nw and spawned a severe storm that moved on thru

Just an attractive shelf crossing Northern Illinois

This was a line that was behind a severe warned group of storms, yet despite a small branch broken on the ground... the followup non warned line was much more attractive.

Somewhat unexpected, another supercell lowering forms along the Boone Mchenry border and approaches Marengo. While it stays t storm warned, you can see that had this storm had a little bit more push it could have caused some issues around here. Great lightning display as well to my north that my dashcam was kept busy with.
