Welcome to TransitWeather,

We are a group of friends who have a common interest in weather, and have spent many years observing, documenting and chasing it across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Forming in 2001, we have slowly continued to increase our ability to follow track and document weather events and outdoor warning systems across the region.  This website should never be used for the protection of life and or property, but as a resource to provide additional information on weather events. History,

We began on February 15, 2001, back then it was a private weather site known as the Marengo Weather Tracker. When we began to stormchase in the 2003 season, we focused our goals to developing a new name that would allow us to broaden our range, TransitWeather ® was born. We are a group of friends with a common interest... weather, from spotting to chasing we hope to continue to provide photography and reports to back up weather events in the region.
